Meet Luna
A companion, not an assistant.
Luna is a small cat who lives in your journal. She asks a question when you open the app, notices when you have been circling the same thing for a while, and answers when you want to talk.
Reflects rather than judges

Does Lanternly send my entries anywhere?
No. Entries are stored on your device and in your own iCloud. Lanternly has no servers, and we cannot read your journal. The only outside request is the weather for an entry, which uses your approximate location.
Is Luna a chatbot in the cloud?
No. Luna runs on your device. On iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple Intelligence she speaks in her own words; on other devices she draws from a curated bank of questions and replies, and the app says so clearly.
Is the free version really enough?
Yes. Journals, Luna, mood, voice, search, sync, export and import are free with no limits. Lanternly+ adds depth: unlimited custom journals, monthly reviews, premium themes, and printing your journal as a book.
Can I leave and take my journal with me?
Any time. Export as text, JSON, PDF or EPUB from Settings. Nothing is held back.
I use Day One. Can I move over?
Yes. Import your Day One JSON archive with dates, photos, locations and weather.
What happens if I stop writing for a while?
Nothing. There are no chains to break and no guilt notifications. Luna will be glad to see you when you come back.
What if I am going through a hard time?
Luna will not pretend to be a professional. If she notices signs that you might be in crisis, she stops the exercise, acknowledges what you are feeling, and points you to real help and a crisis line for your country.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Luna's own words need Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer, M-series iPad and Mac). Everything else works on any supported device.
